HR Manager - £35K- Rochester, Kent - temp to perm To ensure that the resources of the HR team are deployed effectively and efficiently and in particular meet the delivery deadlines and service requirements of frontline operations. To develop and maintain standards of competence that are consistent with those of a professional HR team, including: To oversee the monthly generation of the payroll and related pension service, liaising with the Group’s pension provider, Kent County Council, and production of all Inland Revenue reports including Annual Returns. To ensure that recruitment and retention procedures meet with the needs of managers including drafting advertisements, creating and maintaining a database of job descriptions and person specifications for use and adaption by management. To research and source training and development facilities in support of managers, advising as appropriate and maintaining a database of providers. To oversee the administration of personnel records including checking of employee work references and liaison with the Criminal Records Bureau where sensitivity checks are required for employees working with vulnerable people. To ensure that the HR IT function is effectively utilised to maximise the efficient use of data with respect to monitoring staff sickness, health and safety statistics, absent management, and training outcomes including related reports for directors and line managers. To provide managers with up to date advice and information on employee relations including assistance with applications for employment tribunals, disciplinary and grievance procedures, including facilitating the arrangements for hearings and appeals proceedings. To attend management team meetings, provide input on employee issues of strategic importance and be the contact on staff welfare issues for both management and staff as circumstances may demand. To act as secretary to the Joint Consultative Committees including organising ballots and confirming membership details. Continuing Professional Development: To attend to personal development, training and welfare needs so as to be familiar with legislative changes and new initiatives in the field of employee matters as well as taking care of own health and well being.
